You are precious in my eyes, and I honored you, and I love you.
Just like Israel who had been unfaithful to God many times--so have all of us, time after time also been unfaithful to God--Yet God’s unfailing and unconditional response to us is: “You are precious in my eyes, and I have honored you, and I love you.” What an awesome God we serve. And it’s much more than serving, because God does not refer to us a servants, but as His own children... I John 3:1 says, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God!” If we truly understand God’s love for us, and truly believe it with all our heart... we would serve Him more accidentally than we ever would have on purpose. The reason we are not so obedient to God’s word and faithful to Him, is because we do not fully comprehend His love for us.
Paul also prayed for us “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith... being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, ...being filled with all the fullness of God.” Did you notice what Paul said “with all the saints”? If you want to be a saint, you must seek wholeheartedly to understand the love that Christ has for us. Hebrews 11:6 says that it is impossible to please God without faith. And we know faith works by love (Galatians 5:6), so if we don’t have a good understanding of God’s love for us, nothing else will work for us? We will have trouble receiving answers to our prayers. We will have trouble seeing the promises of God manifested in our life. The first thing we must do is renew our mind totally to understand the love of Christ for us. as individuals. Love is the mortar which holds all the building blocks together. Hear what the word of God is saying to us, and understand His love for us.
Father, with all of my heart I want to understand the width, length, depth and height of your love for me. Reveal to me a deeper understanding of your great love for me, that I may then be totally submitted and surrendered to you, so you can complete your work in me. Amen
