Here we are in the week of celebrating the birth of our Lord. I wondered which scripture would come up for this date—It doesn’t really matter, because each Scripture is a part of Christ. (The WORD became flesh). So all Scripture starts with Him.
Under the Old Covenant they waited for this coming of the LORD, to earth, just as we now wait for His return. Both can be of good courage, because it all comes to pass just as was spoken. Nothing that He says is left undone, and all according to His Word.
Over 300 prophecies fore told of His coming and “all” fulfilled in the one man, Jesus. That should be enough proof for anyone, that Jesus is the Son of God, the promised Messiah. But until it clicks deep down into our knower, we can’t quite grasp it. It’s like bad wiring in need of repaired, it’s just doesn’t make that connection. But once Christ repairs our broken wires, (Our way of thinking) it opens our eyes to the truth of His Word. Christ has then touched our heart and healed our brokenness. He has ministered to us.
Waiting on the LORD is allowing Christ to minister to us the truth of His Word. It gives us the confidence to hold on when we are weak—It strengthens our heart and makes us strong. The Lord and the Word are one... we know that. But just as the Good Samaritan is a type of Christ ministering to us, (the wounded), His ministry continues by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. So as we wait on the LORD (the Word) He continues to strengthen us by ministering His healing. He is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
Father, too often we don’t see Christ as coming to minister to us, but if He didn’t, we would remain wounded and helpless and even unaware that we were in need of help. Thank you for ministering to us. Thank you for strengthening our weary hearts. May our hearts always rejoice in Your goodness, especially at Christmas time, as we allow Your Words to heal and strengthen us. Thank You for the precious gift of love which You have given to us. Thank You for giving Yourself to us. Thank You for Your continual ministering to us. You are awesomely good and trustworthy. There is no other which compares to You. I will praise you now and always forever. Amen
